Setup takes about 5 minutes. After signing up for free, you create a classroom with a name and grade level, select your students' home languages from our list of 20+ options, and optionally import a roster via CSV or connect to your LMS.

Once your classroom is set up, you can add students manually or share a class code — students join by entering the code at student.kuliso.org. No student email required.

Pro tip: Run the 8-question adaptive placement quiz before your first lesson — it auto-assigns each student to the correct WIDA tier and MTSS level.

Kuliso currently supports 20 languages for AI tutoring, vocabulary building, and parent communication:

  • Spanish, Portuguese, French, Haitian Creole
  • Arabic, Farsi (Persian), Urdu, Turkish
  • Vietnamese, Mandarin Chinese, Cantonese, Korean, Japanese
  • Somali, Twi, Swahili, Hausa, Amharic
  • Tagalog, Russian

Each language includes home-language tutoring, cognate-based vocabulary support, and AI-generated parent letters. Want a language not on the list? Email us — we add new languages quarterly.

Kuliso is built around the WIDA English Language Development Standards — the most widely adopted ELD framework in the US. Activities are tagged by WIDA Can Do Descriptors, WIDA levels 1–6, and the four language domains (reading, writing, listening, speaking).

For state-specific standards, Kuliso also maps to:

  • Common Core State Standards (CCSS)
  • Texas TEKS (English and Math)
  • California ELD Standards
  • Florida B.E.S.T. Standards

Use the Curriculum Companion to align Kuliso activities to your specific adoption — HMH, Amplify, Eureka Math, and more.

Yes — in detail. Each student's classroom dashboard shows:

  • WIDA level progression over time
  • Time spent and sessions completed
  • Accuracy and growth on each language domain
  • XP earned, streaks, and badges earned
  • Compliance report status (IEP goals, MTSS tier)

You can also run quarterly benchmark reports with item-level analysis — great for parent conferences and admin reviews.

Students don't need an email address — they join via a 6-character class code. You'll find your code on the classroom page. Students go to student.kuliso.org, enter the code, and create a profile. That's it.

Alternatively, students can sign in through:

  • Clever SSO — if your school uses Clever
  • Google — if your district uses Google Workspace
  • LTI 1.3 — deep linking from Canvas, Schoology, or Blackboard

You can also upload a CSV roster to pre-create student accounts — then students just claim them with a name and avatar.

Yes — this is a core feature, not an afterthought. Kuliso has 7 built-in accommodation toggles that apply automatically to every activity a student encounters:

  • Extended time (+50% or custom)
  • Simplified language (lexile reduction)
  • Text-to-speech (read-aloud)
  • Chunked content (reduced choices per screen)
  • Visual supports (image-heavy mode)
  • Bilingual glossaries
  • Oral response mode (voice instead of typed answers)

Set accommodations once per student in their profile — they carry through tutoring, assessments, and the arcade. Use the Accommodation Engine to configure and the Accommodation History log to document their use for compliance records.

Your child's teacher will give them a class code. They visit student.kuliso.org, enter the code, create a profile with their name and avatar, and they're in. No email address needed for students under 13.

Once logged in, they can access AI tutoring sessions, vocabulary practice, arcade games, and reading activities — all calibrated to their grade level and home language. Sessions are self-paced and typically 15–30 minutes.

Parents can also create a family account to monitor progress without needing a class code.

  • No behavioral profiling of children.
  • No third-party data brokers or ad networks in the student experience.

Kuliso covers ELA and English Language Development (reading comprehension, vocabulary, writing, oral language). Activities are aligned to WIDA standards and CCSS for grades K–12.

Math support is available through our cognate-based vocabulary builder — math terms often share roots across English and the student's home language, which Kuliso uses to accelerate comprehension.

Coming soon: dedicated science and social studies content tracks. Ask your teacher to request these when they become available.

Yes — with a family account, you can see your child's:

  • Weekly activity and time spent
  • WIDA level progression
  • XP earned and badges unlocked
  • Teacher feedback and writing portfolio

You can also receive translated parent progress letters — in your home language — automatically from the teacher. This helps you stay engaged even if you don't speak English fluently.

No. Kuliso is designed for families where the parents may not speak English or the home language fluently themselves. Here's how we support you:

  • Parent app — available in all 20+ supported languages, so you can navigate Kuliso entirely in your home language.
  • Translated progress reports — automatic parent letters in your home language.
  • Home language bridges — Kuliso uses cognates (words that look alike in English and your language) to help your child build vocabulary even if you can't explain in English.

The goal is to make sure your child gets quality language support even if you're not able to help with English homework directly.
